French Chocolate Cake

Oven temperature: 175°C



150 g butter

300 g dark chocolate, 70 %

5 eggs

2 dl sugar

1 vanilla pod

a pinch of salt flakes

2 dl wheat flour

Optional: some arak



Melt butter and chocolate, stirring until smooth. Whip eggs, sugar, salt and the scraped-out content of a vanilla pod white and fluffy. Sift the wheat flour into the egg mixture, mix and then gently fold in the chocolate mixture. Fill the mixture into a greased and breaded cake tin. Bake in the middle of the oven for 20-25 minutes. The cake needs to be firm enough for you to shake the tin without the cake moving, but still moist inside if you test prick it in the middle, else it will be too dry and crumble easily. Leave the cake to cool. Cut it in pieces and serve with cream and fresh strawberries.
